Yup, Pontiac was worried about the fire hydrant capability of the Tri Power. The engine could actually use the fuel at certain times. The one thing that could happen was a backfire caused carburetor fire. That is why they designed the little screen fire arrestors on the inside of the foam air cleaner elements
