Firewalls get heated, cooled, splashed water on and etc. You should not have pinch welds pointing up. That just complicates things. I do not understand how they screwed that one up. So you clean the hell out of them. Derust the metal. Convert the rust, then primer the metal seam then apply seam sealer. It is a very tedious task
