Cast iron is just different. It is like metal that does not like the metal cast in with it. It just seems to crack. Tri Power intakes are a real cracker around the exhaust port crossover and carb stud holes. Ductile iron is better. You can get the reproductions made in ductile iron. They do not crack as often.
