These things just look Hacked in by the Factory. I would bet all the bodies were made with Automatic Floorboards and they just cut the hole for the hump with an Automated Oxy-Accet Torch. It always looks that way. I like to Remove the Hump, Trim the Metal Proper and Weld it back on, Flush with no areas to collect Dirt and Water
