Oh, and then there is block design and improvement for higher horsepower loads. Pontiac figured out from years ago that Four Bolt Main Caps were Required. Now that was really a no brainer. Some other idiot figured he could get people to purchase Splayed Main Caps. Wonder if the metal is there to perform such a stupid operation?
