Sometimes you have to machine the intake manifold flanges to mate up the head deck machining. In this case I just removed enough to clean up the surfaces and did not cut the heck outa them. So I do not need to surface the intake flanges.

Take a very close look at the way these items all are laid out. The brackets, the hoses, the carburetor, the hose clamps, the battery, even the fan shroud. All of these items are correct.
