Why is it "Caged"? To keep the Valve in the Fuel Inlet! The originals are a two piece design. The part that threads into the Carburetor Air Horn just has a nice round hole and a slight radius around the Inner Diameter. That is there to keep fresh machining from destroying the Conical Pintle Valve that goes inside such.
