You have to Hot Tank the Intake Manifold First. This removes all soluble grime and grease. If you set your chemicals right it will also remove surface rust, not crust. Then you Shake and Bake it in a Steel Shot Blast Oven. This removes Crust, Rust, Hard Packed Grease and Seals the Cast Iron Pores
