In this case it was the bolt that was causing me greif. I thought the Thermostat had dropped outa bore and was not letting the bolts bottom out. Loosened up bolts, carefully lifted up housing, saw Perfect Sealent Witness Mark. Looked at bolts and one flange was bigger in O.D. than the other
