The most important time for me is Tear Down. I have been taking engines apart for over 30 years. I have built over 1000 engines to date. I still have to make the perfect one. The wear pattern on the stems, wear pattern on the spring seat, feel when I remove them from the guides, valve seat wear, all information sources about how it ran.
