Here is the rear seal. It is a spring loaded dual lip oil and dust shield. It is designed to keep the road grit out and keep the tranny oil in. When you install it there are many secrets to keep the seal from leaking. I like to take a fine tip and apply my favorite RTV sealer on the very back lip of the shell. That way it will only get used on the last few whacks when being driven down into the bore. Hopefully it will seal all around and keep oil in
