This is the Thrust Area of the Reverse Gear. This area is where the Bronze Spacer rides. It needs to be smooth and have no surface wear. The Leading Edge of the Teeth are cut for proper engagement. Used Gears have rounded teeth or chipped teeth here. These are just contaminating your bearings with hard metal.
