I realize that these bases were just a throw together item at the factory. I often times have to weld in metal to stop them from ripping my nice fabrics that I use. I used some Rolls Royce Leather on a nice 68 Bird. I had more time in preparing the seats for the leather then I had in sewing up the leather. You see the components that are utilized in the job require certain attachment.
