If your weld does not hold the nut will just come off. The Aluminum will be worse for wear. Then you have to decide to try again or drill it out. Now if you cannot get it welded on secure you will need to "Face Off" the broken stud. You do such with a Hand Held Grinder. Do not Damage the Fragile Aluminum Flange
