The "Red Paint" is to indicate that the Bolt that has been Painted has passed the Angular, Stretch and Torque Verification Phase of Correct Stretch! When you are throwing heavy weights this far away from a Crankshaft Center Line having Solid Fasteners and Connecting Rods is CRITICAL!
