Here you can see a bit of grit, garbage or sealent in the Side Shift Cover Bore area. There can be no grit anywhere in a differential or tranny. This is what makes them fail. I went so far as to purchase an ultrasonic cleaner that handles large castings. It was not cheap but litterly shaking the metals at the ultrasonic level removes lots
