See that one bearing? It has a Half Groove in one half of the bearing set. In other words, one Bearing Shell has a Full Groove but it takes two Bearing Shells to tango. This is a throwback from years past. I believe that they felt the groove acted like an "Oil Reservoir" and would aid in oiling!
