  • Here is what you look for.  Twelve bolts parallel to the ground.  That is the only way to tell a 12 bolt diff once it is in the vehicle.  I cannot wait to see what gears are inside this diff.

  • The tubes are always a bit off.  You have to straighten them if you are serious about building a good diff.  You see if the holes on both tubes where the axle bearings go are off then the bearings wear out quick.

  • Notice the rust beginning to form.  This happens litterely the minute you get it out of the blast booth.  You can only solve this problem by shake and baking the center section.  That is hard to do and not warp the axle tubes.

  • Jim did a fine job of Garnet Media Blasting the housing.  It was really clean.  I had to blast it all over again before coating it though.  I need the metal to be as close to near white as possible.  I like for my coatings to adhere perfectly.
